Which Is Better – A Functional Or Chonological Resume?

in Guerrilla Job Search System,Job Hunting,Marketing Yourself With Your Resume

The question is totally wrong and a waste of your time worring about it.

Neither resume style works in a recession.

Your resume needs to be problem based.

Focus in on the problems you can uniquely solve for the potential employer you are submitting the resume too.

The employer probably doesn’t care if its functional or chronological or written on toilet paper (well maybe they do).

What they do care about most, is if you can solve the business problem that they are hiring you for.

Then they care, will you be an employee that fits into their corporate structure.

And its not a company hiring you, its “Bill”, “Susan”, “Fred”, these are people just like you and me.

They care about their family, their job, their company, and all the other private concerns.

Your resume needs to talk to “Bill”, “Susan”, or “Fred”.

Make sure it does.
