New Business Development is the step after marketing and just before closing.

In some cases, it will be lead generation.

In some cases, it will be business expantion.

In some cases, it will be a to increase revenues.

Its not sales and its not marketing. Its the combination of the two.

Definitions need to be simple, practical and help.

Marketing its the effort to allow purchasers to become aware of your products.
Advertising is a specifc method of allowing purchasers to become aware of what you are selling.
Sales is the moving the money from a customers pocket into yours.
Execution is providing the product or service that the customer has paid for.
