Are you waiting for something to happen first before you can really get busy looking for a job.
Here are some of the best excuses to use if you want to develop this habit and ensure your job hunt is as long as possible:
• I can’t go to any networking events until my resume is done.
• I can’t contact any employers until I hear back from the recruiter I called yesterday.
• I can’t apply to that company — they haven’t advertised any openings.
There must be be at least one thing you can do today to move your job hunt closer to being successful.
(The GJS gives you the ideas you need to do it.)
What is the next hing for you to do to get a job?
Never put off taking action until everything is in place.
In my 50 years – nothing has ever been in place.
Things have gotten started and once I start to use them, I figure out ways of improving them. Sometimes I have to go back and redo them. But once they are out there they are working for me.
Bad marketing is 100% better than no marketing.
A bad resume is better than no resume.
A bad LinkedIn profile is better than no profile.
Nothing is ever perfect, its all just a work in progress.
Meanwhile, while you are making it perfect – somebody else just got hired after attending a networking event without a resume, or calling an employer who “wasn’t hiring.”
