If I have helped you in your Job Hunt – please leave a compliment here.
Hint: If you don’t have a website – use your LinkedIn profile.
It would be nice if you structured your compliment this way:
Before Zale – What you were doing.
After Zale – What you are doing.
Include a little something about yourself – you should always be marketing yourself, even when you are helping me out.
I get compliments from people all the time and I tell my clients to share them. So here goes…

Hi Zale,
Thank you so much for the information below [Referring to my LinkedIn response to his invitation]. I received more information from you on how to expand my network than I did from LinkedIn’s customer service. I am so happy to have you as my connection. I also like that you are into self-development as that is an area that I am very passionate about and learning how to be successful is always beneficial on that path.

Very good review. I found this very interesting as well as insightful. Its always good to see things from multiple perspectives. So, apart from being inspired by www.timferriss.com, I am trying to gather other angles to the same concepts offered by other blogs.

Hello Zale T.,
Thanks for a very informative hour. (I was the OLD fellow in the peanut gallery asking questions.)
As a an old hand at LinkedIn and having been thru the “grinder” several times, I was at an impasse on how to structure my latest Unique Value Proposition (UVP). I signed up for your webinar to try and get some perspective.
You gave me the valuable “lens” to see that I have a fantastic wealth of experience which some one can tap to solve problems quickly. My shorter “shelf life” of 8 years means that I will be doing succession planning immediately. It would be unreasonable to make one’s legacy that I left an organization high and dry. My value is not only that I solve problems, but I come with an imperative to knowledge transfer and people development.
From that I formulated my new UVP.
I solve complex difficult customer-impacting problems …
… in large scale infrastructures …
… with diverse operating systems at different maintenance levels …
… across organizational entities (in silos, control hierarchies, or support platforms) …
… cooperating with external people (partners, suppliers, competitors, or vendors) …
… connecting thru any network (internet, intranet, SNA, x25, and others) …
… by aligning subsystems, correcting errors, transferring knowledge, and
flat out just helping, and developing, people.
It was a good hour because you energized me to toss out some “old limiting beliefs”.
You’re a real trouper to “go on with the show” despite the cold. I’ll look for some “chicken soup” to send you!
Thanks,
fjohn

Dear Zale,I actually sent you the thank you during the webinar-I’m the one who’s completely overwhelmed with good info and bad info. Several of my friends here in Columbus, OH have recently found themselves unemployed for the first time in years, some decades. We are starting a Tuesday’s with Zale lunch club so we can begin some intense group job hunting. This Tuesday we have a librarian coming to teach us how to effectively use the Internet and periodicals like Business First to our advantage. We’re making our lists and checking them twice so the new year won’t catch us off guard.PS-sorry this is so long winded, I’m a writer, and could drone on forever about my woes. Take care, and I look forward to seeing you on the web or in my mailbox. Danielle Rickard on LinkedIn

Zale’s recent webinar on using LinkedIn to find a job was excellent and gave me some new ideas for my job search. His encouragement and insight helped me look at myself and my job goals from a different perspective. While the webinar was free, the information was invaluable, and I highly recommend it to all of those who are in the job market

I recently listened to 7 Ways To Generate Business a presentation about how to grow your business through Linked in. I found this presentation to be most helpful, and I will be using his ideas in regards to cold / warm calling. Before calling a contact I can look at their interests and hobbies to turn a cold call into a warm one. Thanks again Zale, keep the ideas coming.”

While looking for a comprehensive explanation of LinkedIn to share with my group (Professional Writers Association of Canada, http://www.pwac.ca), I stumbled across Zale’s presentation “Seven Ways To Generate Business With LinkedIn.” This is arguably the best explanation I’ve seen of how to use LinkedIn to accomplish a variety of goals, and I’ve read a bunch of them. Thanks to Zale, I’ve been able to better explain my enthusiasm for LinkedIn and how we can use it to promote ourselves as professionals.
