I found The Strangest Secret on YouTube in Three Parts.

The story of The Strangest Secret `is well known and worth retelling. Earl Nightingale created the modern way of learning to become successful.

The way I understand the story, Earl was not able to make a sales meeting and so what he did was record the meeting on a cassette tape recorder.

 

He then had the cassette played through the telephone system to all the staff members. Earl was then approached and asked if the recording could be marketed and sold.

 

And thus The Strangest Secret became the first "Gold Record" for a recorded voice just speaking.
