A successful job hunt requires many different skills. The three most important are (1) A clear idea of the job we want, (2) the skills needed to find the job and get the job, (3) and a plan on how to get the job. These are not the same skills needed to do the job once you have got it. Job hunting is something that is infrequent and so the skills needed are not honed with practise. These resources are intended to provide you with a plan so that you can just execute the plan.
I have taken the time to vet each resource and can be comfortable recommending them (especially the ones I have authored). You don’t need everyone of them, but you should use at least one. Check them all out and then select the one that will work best for your particular needs.

What Color Is Your Parachute? Is probably the best book on Job Hunting. Its been around for 30 years or so and is updated every year. Richard and I differ a bit on the importance of the Internet. But we certainly agree completely on the importance of knowing what you want.

I have created my own program for Job Hunters. My program is oriented to unemployed university educated professionals earning over $75,000. I believe to find a job, requires a full time commitment. The course begins with a one day in-class session followed by 65 days of activities. Every Mondays through Friday the program members receive action items that are estimated to take 6 hours a day. Apply to the 66 Days To A Job Guaranteed! program here. | Zale Tabakman |
| Complete Job Search Program | I have created a 66 Day Job club based since 82% of people who are members of a Job Club find a job. It uses some of the principles of the 66 Days To A Job Guaranteed! program without many of the details. (It is free after all).
The 66 Day Job Club is for everyone, people currently employed but looking for a new job, recent graduates, and people who just don’t want to spend the money or make the time commitment the Program assumes you would. You can join the 66 Day Job Club here. |
