I Have Become A Player In The Blogosphere!

I have now joined the top ranks of the Blogosphere!

Michael VanDervort of Human Race Horses tagged me, and now I will post 6 random things about myself. The idea of Blogger Tag is to connect people of like minds to readers of each of our sites.

There are some rules to the game. The first rule is to list 6 random things about yourself. I have tried to include things that people may not know reading my articles.

  1. I love wondering I have loved wondering since I was a teenager. I walk in in forests. I walk city streets, I will walk anywhere, Life is busy, so I seem so busy that I have to make my walking specific, and I don’t like it. Wondering lets me learn and meet random people. I used to wonder  in libraries. Its amazing what of interesting things you learn. In high school I used to hang out in the stacks at York University. I discovered all the Life magazines from WWII. Amazing stuff. Now that I think about it, that is one of things I like about marathon running. It like a long wonder with lots of people and it may explain why I am always at the back of the pack.
  2. I love people. I love talking, schmoozing, hearing peoples stories. I hate listening to people complain who are not looking to solve their problems. I like looking at people. My girlfriend (ex-wife, and daughters) think its only pretty women I look at, but the reality is I look at everybody and everything. Women, men. dogs, cats, and everything else. I try to avoid looking at teen age girls – just because they would find it creepy.
  3. I love reading. I always have several books on the go. My favorite fiction are murder mysteries. I have read almost every Agatha Christie book, Nero Wolfe, and tons of other writers. I got that from my mother (OBM) who was a book a the month devotee. My house is a library of books, i must have a thousand or more and not just business and marketing books. My father never read books, but he would read the newspaper everyday and listen to the CBC Radio news. Guess what – I have to read the newspaper and listen to CBC Radio.
  4. I love teaching classes. It lets me interact with people and help them. If I could figure out a way to make a decent living without charging I would do it. But, there are two challenges to this (a) people don’t appreciate something they don’t pay for, (b) I need to pay for food, mortgage, school for the kids, etc.
  5. I grew up in Sudbury Ontario and I have only fond memories of it. I went back to visit a few years back, and guess what – it still was nice. The people were nice and the whole atmosphere gave me a warm feeling.
  6. I live in the Russian-Jewish area of Toronto and I love it. The emigrees are so interesting and so different from what my perceptions were. They walk non-stop. I think everyone Russian in the area has a dog. Including the ones in the apartment buildings. There is this fantastic large wooded park near my home. The park has a paved path through it. Its a real (but small) forest with wild animals and everything. On Saturdays, I try to go for a walk in the afternoons. Its so busy with all the Russians, I feel I need to get a ticket. Old people. young people, and every age. It is so nice and pleasant.

Now, I must pass this chain on to six friends…

Zale,

I appreciate it, and I’ve sent friends to your blog for the social networking posts (Linked-in especially) but I’ve never been a fan of chain-anything, chain mail, chain phone, chain blogs. Please feel free to replace me on your tag list if you don’t want a dead end:-)

I was interesting to learn that there’s a Russian enclave in Toronto. I have many Russian friends in Israel and made an effort to learn the language for a few years, made it through all the Pimsleur courses, but bogged down when I got serious about trying to learn grammar.
