Job Description
SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
Manages security operations and services through use of multi-faceted integrated technology and staff deployment that achieves security objectives. Advises and leads operational/tactical support & guidance on security-related initiatives and issues.
Advises on the Security requirements for the company. Directs the activities of the Protection Services Department. Develops and implements methods and practices to ensure the life safety and security of the contents, employees, facility, public and volunteers.
Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of security standards, equipment and procedures
- Thorough working knowledge of Provincial Offences Act, criminal code and relevant legislation
- Directly related experience managing a security department; unionized experience an asset.
- Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Directly related in-depth knowledge of CCTV and recording, alarm systems, access control, locksmithing, ID card programming and distribution, fire system and communication systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of training techniques and methods
- Demonstrated knowledge of scheduling requirements for a large workforce.
- Well developed public relations and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated administrative, organizational, and documentation skills
- Well developed verbal and written communication skills
