Weekend Picture

A Great Way To Personally Touch Thousands Of Successful Woman In Toronto

An Opportunity To Do Something Great, While Creating A Profitable Relationship On a Deeply Personal Level.

I am creating a team of 100 women raising $200,000 to end woman’s cancers.

My Team will walk with thousands of other woman during the Weekend To End Women’s Cancers.

You may have heard of the weekend under its old name “The Weekend To End Breast Cancer”. In recognition of the many other cancers that effect woman, the weekend’s name has been changed by the Princess Margaret Hospital.

  • Our team will be talking to thousands of women (and men) to reach our financial goal.
  • Our team will be creating a promotional material highlight the contributions by sponsors.
  • Our team will be giving away gift packages to donors.
  • Our team will be touching thousands of people.

I know joining our team will be great for you and for your company.

Cancer is personal, it touches everyone.

I don’t think there is a person in Canada who has not been touched by Cancer is some form or another.

The Weekend is about an issue that touches 50% of the population.  An issue your company can be part of.

You know me, I am a marketing guy. I live and breath marketing. I love marketing and delivering a message.

Every conversation is about making a sale, getting market share, talking to your target audience.

This is a conversation you want to be part of. You and your company want to be seen as leading it. My team lets you and your company be a part of it. My team connects you with important powerful women in a high net worth  geographic area. People who live at Yonge and Eglinton are the trend setters in Toronto.

The Women (and men) who join the walk, are declaring themselves leaders in Toronto. They are people who get out and take action about things they are concerned with.

The marketing guru Seth Godin calls my team a Hive and the team members “Sneezers”. And I am letting you have access.

What Seth is saying, is that my team are the kind of people who tell everyone about something they believe in.  When they make a recommendation, it sticks, and it causes action.

Our Team and the Companies who sponsor our team will be the people recommended.

You and your company can be recommended.

You can have 100 successful, powerful women at Yonge and Eglinton telling everybody about you and your company.

This can happen to you. This can happen to your company. You and your company can be connected to the leaders in Toronto.

I encourage you to promote your company with gift to our walkers and to the people who donate to our team.

Depending on the gift and quantity, gifts are given to walkers, to people who donate, or sold to raise funds for the team.

Yes, we do except straight cash donations to the Curves Friends and Family Team.

Joining the team moves you to a higher level of connection with the team.

You or somebody from your company  can walk with us. It will create the personal connection.

Your name or company name will be everywhere.

And the best part, you are helping Princess Margaret Hospital cure women’s cancers.

Find out more about the weekend and joining our team at http://EndCancer.ZaleTabakman.ca.

If you miss out, don’t worry, you can join other teams or create your own team if you want. (But, by not joining my team you don’t get to join in my marketing program – its best to join us.)

I Have Met A Milestone Met On My Way To The Boston Marathon

As anybody who has read my postings they know I have this 15 Month plan that started last June to get me to the Boston Marathon in 2011.

The first major milestone was last Sunday’s Toronto Marathon.

My goals were:

  1. to complete in 4:30 and to not cramp up.

So I had been planning and running and following the Running Room schedule. Everything was great – except for three things that effected my plan.

  1. I did not take into account the Jewish Holidays which all fell on the last 4 weeks before the run. So guess what that did to my long runs! Lesson Learned: Plan around the Jewish Holidays so that the training works. I will have the same problem next year.
  2. I fell when running and hurt my rib. I fell because I got caught in my dogs leash when he started playing with 2 dogs NOT ON leash. Lesson Learned: Stop and don’t worry about a training run time when their is chance I can get hurt.
  3. The temperature dropped. I did not know that the temperature drop will make you so sore. I talked to other people and found out it is quite common. Lesson learned: Expect soreness when the weather turns
  4. I didn’t dress properly for it. I ended up carrying a really nice jacket I bought and hat from 2KM spot. Lesson Learned: next time – I will buy something something used and throw it away when I am done.

My results:

  • Completed in 4:40 – which is close enough to my 4:30 goal
  • NO CRAMPING! – In the end I used something called endurance. I started with Accelerate – it worked to stop cramping – but I found I was having stomach problems if I drank to much of it. I am a little lactose intolerant and on long runs when I drink a lot of it – my stomach acted up.

Maybe Milestone On The Way To Boston : Tiberius in January 4:15 – I am waiting to see if I land a specific contract so I can afford it.

Next Milestone On The Way To Boston: Ottawa 4:00

Summary

The weather was great.

The people were great!

And the best of all?

Two of my kids were at the finish line.

One of them ran with me for the last 100 yards – yelling in my ear…..

“You can do it! You are on your way to Boston!”

Teenage Girls – What You Do Is More Important Than What You Say

Teenagers are so sharp. They see through you like Superman’s X-ray vision. And we want our kids to do better and be better than we are. We want them not to make the same mistakes we made.

And so we tell them over and over again what to do.

Most days it feels like we are talking to a wall. They are listening, but some times it might take years for it to sink in.

Another common problem is that the kid won’t talk to you or spend time with you, unless of course its buying them something or driving them somewhere.

I have an idea for you that will help your spend time with your daughter and open up possibilities for communicating with them.

A way that helps both you and the kids.

Its based on something you know.

You know in your heart of hearts that you are a role model for your kids.

They will do what they see you do faster than they will do what you say.

Jan Tompkins, 50, works out at the Mt. Airy, NC, Curves with her two teenage daughters, who are both starters on their school basketball team.

“The incentive for me to continue is to see how amazing Curves has been for my daughters.” says, Jan, “Now that they know I value keeping my heart and weight healthy, they’ve begun eating more fruits and vegetables. They seldom get tired on the court, and their schoolwork has improved because they’re thinking more clearly”.

What I suggest is that you join Curves with one or two of your daughters and you go together.

Let the kid push you and encourage you. Let them be the one to say “Hey, Mom – we got to get to Curves”.

And its cheap. Curves gives a major discount to more than one person living at the same address.

So, you and your daughter can get a great price. And if there is more than one daughter, don’t be shy, ask for a larger discount.

How To See The World

Here is a great way to see the world.

In 2004, while on a Voyage Of The Vikings cruise, Carolyn Propst, age 47, toured the port towns of Iceland and Greenland from the confines of a bus.

It sucked.

In 2007, after losing 100 pounds through Curves, (which is not unusual) Carolyn took the same cruise.

This time guess what happend?

She toured those towns on he own feet, hiking around breathtaking foothills and pristine lakes.

“Thanks to Curves”, says Carolyn, who lives in Seabrook, Texas, “I’m much more adventurous”.

Let me add a few other ideas to Carolyn’s wonderful example about Curves and travel.

As a Curves member, you automatically get a Curves travel pass. That means you can visit any of the 10,000 Curves locations in the world. And when you walk in there, you will instantly have some new friends.

These new friends can help you find places when you are visiting, great restaurants off the beaten path, places where the locals go.

And don’t be surprised if you are invited back to their home for a meal.

Curves is a wonderful way to travel the world.

How To Get A Hot Body

We all love to look good. For ourselves, for our loved ones, and just to be admired.

The Curves workout makes you firmer, leaner, and more toned, which can help you accomplish things you have never dreamed possible.

“With the support and encouragement of my friends at Curves, I got back in shape and was able to strive to do something extraordinary”, say Jean Schlier of South Ogden Utah, who ran a marathon at age 50 and did an Ironman triathlon the next year.

Jean did it, you can too.

Want to get high?

I have been through a divorce.

I have lost both my parents.

I have had a business fail.

I have had lots of crap happen to me.

I know I am not alone with these problems, and in fact my problems are a lot less serious than yours probably are. Matter of fact, your problems are much worse for you than they are for me, since they are your problems.

I do know how I have gotten through every one of my problems. I have exercised to work off the stress.

Exercise may be just as effective as therapy and medications for patients with insomnia, fatigue, and feelings of worthlessness, research suggests.

The social interaction plays a big role, experts believe, as do the chemical changes triggered by the workouts.

Even, if you’re not depressed, exercise provides an instant mood boost.

As an alternative to the “Runners High”, get the “Curves High”.

How To Get A Jar Of Pickles Open

Tired of straining to open a jar?

Do you want more oomph to do the things in your life?

In a Baylor University study, women who followed the Curves 30 minutes, 3 times a week program increased their muscle power by 15% to 30%  in 10 weeks.

Don’t worry about looking like a muscle builder – the Curves program is not a weight training program and all the machines do what we call balanced effort. Both sides of every muscle are worked, so even if you worked out all day everyday on the machines, you wouldn’t get the muscle definition.

With more oomph in those biceps, abs, quads, and glutes, you can unscrew that stubborn jar of pickles  yourself, hoist the big water bottle, and pull apart the the sofa bed for your houseguests.

And best of all – no more of him rolling his eyes!

Today you can lower your high cholesterol levels

High cholesterol is bad. Low cholesterol is good.

We need to do things that will lower our cholesterol levels to healthy numbers.

Countless Curves members (there are over 4,000,000 in total) have seen a such a drop in total blood cholesterol that they’ve decreased their medications or even quit taking them altogether.

Pretty exciting, eh?

Exercise has also proven effective in boosting levels of HDL, the good cholesterol, and decreasing “bad” HDL cholesterol and triglycerides (body fats).

Curves is better than taking pills. It solves so many of lifes problems.

Exercise 3 times aweek for 30 minutes and you will feel better.

The two things I know about Menopause

The first thing I know about Menopause is that for some reason, women going through it have a “Personal Summer” and always think it too hot.

(That was a very small attempt at humour)

The second thing I know is that it might be easier to manage the symptoms than you think.

Many health experts believe exercise can help relieve symptoms such as anxiety, insomnia, and night sweats, and possibly even hot flashes (your personal summers) and headaches.

“You may not totally eliminate the symptoms, bit it seems you can certainly alleviate them”, says Cedric Bryant, PhD, cheif scientist for the American Council On Exercise.

Going to Curves 3 times a week for 30 minutes it definitely better than any pill.

And if going works to relieve your menopause symptoms, and you could lose weight, and you will look and feel terrific, isn’t it worth trying it?
