Many articles speak about creating and using a white paper as a job hunting technique.

But, many of my readers find it challenging to say the least.

Other people find that they have lots and lots of problems they can solve. But, none of the problems in them selves to be able to create a “White Paper”.

Consider expressing the problem in a newsletter format.

Select the problem you have worked on and write a news story about it.

Detail the problem, your solution, and the result.

As a side note – using a newsletter format shows creativity and demonstrates how well you can write and communicate – both skills are in high demand.

Oh – and don’t forget to add to your resume – “Author of newsletters solving problems for our industry”.

Action Steps:

  • People gravitate to pictures so make sure to include one that represents something in the project – a product shot or a happy customer are ideal.  That is why the Guerrilla Job Search DVD is displayed on the articles in the 77 Gerrilla Job Hunt series.
  • Always include a link to your web site or at least your LinkedIn profile so people may get more information
  • Consider doing more than one story with the second continued and finished on your web site.
  • Make available PDF versions of the newsletter on your website
  • Consider using direct mail as a way to get it out. Bulk postage for a single sheet folded is pretty inexpensive, especially when you consider how much money you can make at the job.

If you find your challenged to write great copy, consider using some of the Yanik Silver writing tips I have on my site.

This article is just a small sample of how you can do to take control of your Job hunt and make it effective. I work closely with the two experts in the field, Kevin Donlin and David Perry, co-creators of the Guerrilla Job Search System.

Job hunters who use “Click and Apply” wonder why they are not getting interviews and ultimately taking far too long to get a job.  I hope you are not using “Click and Apply” as your major tactic. You have many more strategies and tactics to make an effective job hunt.

Guerrilla Job Search System DVDThe only Job Hunting system I recommend is the Guerrilla Job Search System.

The system works, because it helps you do what you do best. Kevin and David have been interviewed by Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Fortune magazine, and the Christian Science Monitor about their method to finding a job.

Go right now and listen to a sample of how Kevin and David will get your job search into high gear

If you want to know why I think the Guerrilla Job Search System is so effective for job hunters read my review of it here.
