I have mentioned several times to have a list of the top 20 companies you want to work for.
I imagine there is a a list of 50 companies that you might want to work for.
Write an incredibly compelling covering letter describing why you can help them.
The letter must be excellent, it if isn’t then the technique will not work.
In the cover letter describe how you will be great for their business, mentioned the enclosed White paper or newsletter for further information.
Here is the sales technique.
Don’t seal the envelope and don’t enclose the newsletter or white paper.
They’ll think the it fell out in the mail.
Wait for the phone to ring, speak to the hiring manager personally, engage them in a conversation, and sell yourself shamelessly.

- Use high quality stationary
- Make sure the letter fits very snugly in the envelope so it doesn’t really fall out.
- Make sure your phone number is on the covering letter.
- Make sure the letter is convincing.
